Greetings! My name is Whitney Woo (short for Woolstenhulme – see why I use “Woo” now?) and this is my blog.
I’m a recent graduate of the University of Utah who obtained a degree in Mass Communication, and I now have the “pleasure” of working my way up the career ladder as New Media Manager at fitmixer®. Beyond those 40 hours-per-week, I enjoy spending my time photographing things, writing, cooking and trying new & unconventional food, and traveling. I am also very enthusiastic toward nature, world cultures, classical & acoustic music, anything Parisian, prank-pulling, and going on new “adventures.”

RAW is my online journal where I can share my photography and thoughts with whomever might take an interest in it. Readers who dig into the archive of RAW will find an array of posts; topics covering portrait photography sessions, vents & ramblings, school projects, and more will be rediscovered. However, after a few years of blogging, I realized how much I personally enjoy posting about travel and adventure, so I have decided to revamp RAW into a blog that may more-so appeal to travel and adventure enthusiasts. (Although travel may be the dominant subject, it won’t be the exclusive one)!

1. natural: being unprocessed or manufactured using only simple or minimal processes.
2. naked: devoid of elaboration or diminution or concealment; bare and pure.
The name also takes after raw image format, “so named because they are not yet processed: that is, the data is not directly usable as an image, but has all of the information needed to create an image.”
When I first started, I liked the double meaning of “raw” in the way that it could describe this blog to be a representation of my “naked” self while also hinting to web-surfers that they would find photography here. Currently, I am reconsidering this name (amongst other things) as part of my re-branding process.
